Located in the heart of Eugene, Oregon, Beppe & Gianni's Trattoria is a charming Italian restaurant that invites diners to experience authentic, home-style Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Nestled in a converted old house at 1646 E 19th Ave, this trattoria perfectly balances rustic Italian tradition with a cozy, intimate ambiance that makes every meal feel like a special occasion.
The menu is a culinary celebration of Italy’s rich flavors and regional delicacies, thoughtfully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. From the very first bite, you’ll notice dishes that are crafted with both passion and precision. Popular highlights include the hearty Pappardelle Con Carne, featuring fresh handmade wide-cut pasta bathed in a robust sauce of Chianti, braised beef, tomatoes, and garlic – a dish that is deeply flavorful and satisfying. The tender Lobster Stuffed Ravioli is a decadent treat, while the Lasagna Della Casa offers a classic, comforting experience layered with rich cheeses and savory sauces.
For those who appreciate the lighter side of Italian fare, the vibrant Insalata D'agrumi dazzles with fresh seasonal citrus, blood oranges, shaved fennel, and roasted walnuts in a bright Sicilian-style dressing. Vegetarians will love the delicately layered Eggplant and the handmade cappelli di vescovo (bishop hats) pasta stuffed with swiss chard, prosciutto, ricotta, and parmesan.
Seafood lovers will find pure delight in the Halibut Piccata, a pan-seared halibut served in a tangy lemon caper sauce accompanied by spaghetti pomodoro and tender seared green beans. The Salmon entrée, baked gently with lemon, garlic, and olive oil, is equally satisfying, offering fresh, local flavors that truly shine.
No Italian meal is complete without indulging in dessert, and Beppe & Gianni’s does not disappoint. The Tiramisu is luxuriously creamy with perfect coffee undertones, while the Ricotta Cheesecake and the delicate Olive Oil Cake provide sweet finishes that linger beautifully on the palate.
Guests consistently praise the ambiance — a blend of cozy charm and lively warmth — that sets the perfect backdrop for date nights, family dinners, or casual outings with friends. Diners repeatedly note the attentive and friendly service, with staff moving swiftly to accommodate guests even on the busiest weekend evenings. As one patron, Neil Howell, highlighted, the service is “quite good,” with food arriving promptly and dishes like the Pappardelle Con Carne serving generous portions of rich, slow-cooked meat that leave a lasting impression.
Aside from the food, the genuine hospitality stands out. Sara Gibson fondly recalls the welcoming staff who made waiting on a busy Monday night feel effortless, describing the waitress as “delightful” and the host as exceptionally kind. Cassandra Buitron, initially skeptical due to mixed reviews, found herself pleasantly surprised by the flavorful dishes and the lively, inviting vibe of the trattoria.
One insider tip from Steve Abrahao is to arrive early since this popular spot does not take reservations and seating can be limited. The early bird not only secures a table but also taps into the freshest dining experience this beloved Eugene gem has to offer.

The food and service was quite good, food came quickly. And would recommend without reservation. The bread appetizer was good, but comes cold (fyi). The con carne came with a lot of meat, 4 large pieces of slow cooked meat, and about another two broken up in the noodles and sauce. It was a rich dish. We were there on a weekend post holiday and they were busy....we were seated reasonably quickly (20min), would recommend reservations. Didn't have wine, but they had a rather large list of Italian wines.
Super food and service! We arrived at 7:30 on a Monday night, a night when many restaurants in Eugene are closed. We waited about 20-minutes in the foyer, after which a bunch of people left. The seating was then immediate and the service was lightning-fast. Besides for the food being fantastic, the staff is so nice and friendly. The host was super nice and the waitress was so delightful. When I left we were satiated, happy, and uplifted. Also appreciate that fresh fish is on the menu.
We stumbled on this place while wandering Eugene one Thursday night. The place itself is super cool and looks to have been an old converted house. The staff were very nice and we were greeted and taken to a table right away. The food was so so so good and tasty. We will definitely return when we are back down to Visit.
Firstly it's important to note that I am generally dissatisfied with restaurants in Eugene. I went into this with low-ish expectations because of the mixed reviews on here. But wow, we had a great time! I especially loved the vibe: charming, warm, and lively. Our server was just excellent from start to finish. My partner's dish was under salted and mine was a hair overly salted, but the flavors were excellent. The experience is pricey but well worth it in my opinion. We will return!
Looking for tasty Italian in Eugene, OR? Definitely make a stop at Beppe & Gianni’s Trattoria. This cozy, charming spot offers a straightforward yet flavorful menu that gives you a real glimpse of Italy—fresh pastas, rich sauces, and classic Italian favorites done right. Insider tip: Go early! They don’t take reservations, and seating is limited. It fills up fast, and for good reason. There’s street parking nearby, and the staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive. Come. Eat. Enjoy.
The restaurant is housed in a converted home, giving it a cozy and inviting atmosphere. A large number of outdoor tables are arranged, adding to its charm. While butter-and-wine-based clam dishes are quite common, this Italian spot offers a delightful twist with clams in tomato sauce as a starter—an excellent choice. The ravioli had an exceptionally fresh taste and rich flavor, and though the aglio e olio spaghetti would’ve benefitted from a slightly firmer al dente texture, the bigger issue was the lack of emulsified sauce from the pasta water and oil, which made the dish feel a bit dry. Still, the overall flavor balance was commendable. For dessert, the ricotta cheesecake struck a lovely balance in both texture and taste. I finished with an espresso, which wrapped up a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. The staff provided outstanding service, making the visit even more memorable. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend. diners take time either before or after the meal to enjoy a stroll in Washburne Park, located right next to the restaurant.
The winter seasonal seafood ravioli dish was absolute perfection. Rich, flavorful, and filling. Get a dessert. Any dessert. Tgey are all amazing. The restaurant atmosphere really reminds me of the Italian restaurants in Boston's North End. I'll be back!
